UNICEF Partnership and Fundraising Report
UNICEF asked me to write, design, and photograph a report detailing an innovative partnership with the Japanese company, LIXIL, that designed pioneering water and housing products. The partnership was formed in 2018 around the shared ambition to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goal 6 to end open-defecation and ensure sanitation for all by 2030
The original brief was to travel to East Africa and conduct interviews with technical staff from UNICEF's Water and Sanitation programmes and LIXIL's operations staff, and photograph and film the projects on the ground. Unfortunately, travel was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, so I worked remotely to research and conduct interviews. We also had to utilize photographs from the photo libraries and I worked with a graphic designer, Lindsay Noble, to make the photos work with the text and build a design that felt fresh, engaging but at the same time fairly minimal.
